BabyMoon & Belly Pics

My parents were here this past weekend visiting and when they went to say their goodbyes, Noah kept saying "shoes" and "car" and "bapa" (grandpa). My mom looked at me and said,..."Let us take him to Blackfoot for a little bit and we will meet you half way for you to pick him up in 3 days. It was all happening so fast and on a whim I said, "um,..okay"! 10 min later Noah's bag was packed and he was on his way to Blackfoot. Brad was is euphoric shock, he started making all sorts of spontaneous plans for the two of us. The next thing I knew, we were on the road to McCall Idaho to stay at the Whitetail Lodge for a quick "BabyMoon". We had some much needed relaxing alone time! (A BabyMoon is a version of a HoneyMoon before the babies come. Make your husbands take you on one! You SO deserve it!) I'm sure Noah was just as thrilled to be staying with his "Bapa" and "Maw Maw" (How Noah pronounces Grandpa and Grandma). But by today my heart was aching to get Noah B back in my arms! I just went and picked him up and I don't think I have ever hugged him so tight. :) Brad,..Thanks for the much needed babymoon, I had such a wonderful time! Mom and Dad,...Thanks for watching my little boy for a few days for us. It a crazy spontaneous movement, but we are sure glad we let you take him for a few days.On to my growing belly...Someone recently asked "Are you far enough along to show yet?" Oh boy,..um ya,..definitely showing,...have been for quite some time! I'm about 20 weeks along and I look about how I did with Noah at 26-28 weeks. No complaints,...I know there are two in there,..but BOY is my belly growing FAST! I will officially go in to hiding when I hit the 28 week mark (except for the few of those who are willing to pay the small "freak show" fee to see my humungo)! ;) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my big belly,...just should be interesting to see just how big it gets! Here are a few quick 20 week pictures to satisfy your curiosity.

This one makes me look smaller than I really am...good angle I guess! ;)
This is more the truth....P.S. Those were quite some arguments over the VAN/SUV post. Most (almost all) with 3 kids and over said to definitely go with a Van. I am interested to observe the girls who voted against a van in 5 years! I wonder how many of you will give in?! I did test drive a van the other day, and I almost threw up a little bit it my mouth! ;) But I also drove a honking SUV and I feel like a tiny bug in it with the engine all revving up and stuff. Oh we will see. I am in love the with GMC Acadias (Insides like a Van, outsides like a small SUV) but they are still too $. We will see which argument wins in the end. ;) I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for your input. Brad and I have had quite the discussions over your comments! :)

  1. You cutie! The babymoon sounds fun and I love the pictures you posted of all the snow. Brad is really good in that sentimental/planning stuff. Drop some hints to Zac!

  2. I've never heard of a babymoon, but I love the idea. I'll have to remember the idea in the future. I still can't believe your having twins, I am so excited for you. And twin girls will be so much fun. I can already see the cute matching outfits :)

  5. Congrats on the Babymoon. I basically think they should be a commandment! I cant get over how teensy your belly is for twins at 20 weeks. And I cant wait to hear how crazy it is when they start to get really cramped and you feel every elbow and foot!!! So awesome too that your parents kidnapped your little guy for a few days for you. Gabe and I are debating a trip in a few months and Im back and forth on if i can leave Brigitte. I WANT the vacation, but I dont know if I can stand to be away from her! Was this the first time you had been away from Noah overnight???

  6. What a wonderful getaway! I had one of those when I was like 37 weeks pregnant. Brownie points for Brad! And you are so cute with your belly. You are still so skinny, with only a pregnant belly showing. I just got wide!

  9. Ok so we did the "babymoon" also!! Loved it! Great idea, it's so nice to get away for a few days! Especially w/ twinners in your belly!! You look great! I showed early to, and had to tell myself there were 2 in there! Plus I'd never had 1, so I had no idea! ;)I really still can't believe how much stomachs can stretch and then amazingly go back!! It's crazy!:)

  10. Oh, I'm so glad you decided to take us up on your offer with Noah. He was such a cutie pie over here with us. He learned about "on" and "off" and "mess" while you were off babymooning. And as much as he loves Bapa more than me, he did give me my new name - "Mawmaw". That was definitely worth keeping him for. So much for McMa and McPa. I loved seeing pictures of the Lodge in the snow. I think we will definitely have to go there again. Such a pretty place! I like your baby ticker on your blog! The twinners or two peas in a pod! Love you - Mom

  11. I love the baby moon idea. Congrats on having girls. So exciting. You will have so fun dressing them. Your belly is so cute. I know this is late but I say go for the van. We got an suv and I love it but when it comes to travelling and loading kids I don't love it. Good luck with the decision.

  15. You look great! Just keep telling yourself, "There are two in there" and you will feel better! I am with Becky about the amazing changes that a body can go through and then bounce back! I am glad that you got to go on a "babymoon" we did that too but we didn't think of such a cute thing to call it!

  16. Good for you! Enjoy your freedom while you can. Jk...... or am I? You know, I'm speaking from experience.....or am I just messing with your head? JK - I love ya, & I love being a mommy to twins. They just turned 5 & will be starting school next year. Trust me when I say the time goes by WAY fast!

Oh, & the vehicle issue. Here's my advice when trying to make a choice - try to pick the one that will be easiest for you to load 2 car seats & buckle up a 3rd in his seat. Your back will thank you!

  17. Hi Shell. I linked to your blog off the "therhouse" and think your family is so cute and happy! Congrats on your pregnancy. I was hoping you could share your fertility cleanse that you referenced. We are going to embark on another IUI, and any tips would be helpful! THanks and good luck! raebabeann@yahoo.com

  18. ok big favor.....would you mind forwarding me your lovely pregnancy cleanse/diet? Its not for me...ha ha thats hilarious/scary to even think about right now! But my sister in law has been trying for a long time, and I mentioned this to her and shed love to give it a go. I understand if you dont want it floating around, or disappointing someone...so completely up to you if you want to disclose. ( and Hello, we all know it might not work for everyone right?!?) But Just thought it might be worth a try for her. Thanks!!! Christycrandall@gmail.com
