A Year Ago Today...

Today I woke up a sound that has become very very familiar to me. Two squealing giggling babies. This sound makes my motherly heart almost leap from my chest. It's never crying that comes from their nursery in the morning. Just talking, squealing, and laughing.
I love that they are sisters. They are so lucky to have eachother. I am so lucky to have them.
{1 hour later} ---Yes I am a dork and was getting choked up so I had to step away and come back. Then my visiting teacher came by and just happened to give a little message about the joys of raising daughters. Seriously?! Today? I am a wreck. I am ridiculously ridiculous.

Why does it go so fast? Was it really a year ago? Really?! A year ago today my family of three became my family of five. I never thought in a million years that it would jump from three to five. I wouldn't change it for the world. A year ago today, I was bigger, and more miserable
than I had ever been. A year ago today was one of the best days of my life. I still can't believe there were TWO babies in there! We were so lucky to have two beautiful baby girls arrive in our family. Two perfectly HEALTHY baby girls {sigh of relief}.

When I was pregnant, people would always tell me that 'twins are easy', that they come out just being 'better' because they know they have to. I didn't believe them. I do now.

Chloe and Sophie are the sweetest blessing. They have eachother and it is the most adorably sacred thing to witness. Sleeping through the night at 3 months, waking up jabbering, and following eachother around. They make parenting easy.

Chloe Mae is playful. She is always pulling on my legs wanting to be held. She thinks Noah B is
the funniest guy in the world. Chloe is full of spunk and fun. She will often mimmick us and is full of personality. She started walking this week!

Sophie June is incredibly sweet. She is content. You can often see a little smirk and smile behind her big blue eyes. It's almost a little fliratious little look. {We are in for trouble}. She gets sweetly shy and buries her face in to me when she is embarrassed. She will
cuddle up to just about anyone.

While there are differences the two of them are very much alike. They both love to be held by anyone who will pick them up. They both are easy going. They often fall over on eachother. Instead of getting frustrated, they giggle at eachother. They talk back and forth in their cribs. They follow eachother around EVERYWHERE. They steal eachother's binkies and food. They both fall asleep the second their head hits the crib and cuddle their faces up to their soft blankets. When out in public, they could stop traffic a mile a way. They are pretty adorable if you ask me. Devlopmentally they have done things literally hours within each other. They watch and learn from eachother. They are so stinkin' easy to love. After I had Noah, I was convinced I wanted a herd of boys. A herd of little 'boyfriends'. I had no idea the special bond I would have with my girls. I love seeing the two of them together.

And I especially love seeing the THREE of them together.
And you want to know what really REALLY melts my heart?
Seeing the FOUR of them together.
I am lucky and I know it.

Chloe, Sophie, you know you are my everything? It's so fun watching you grow. But why does it happen all so fast? Before I know it you will be adorable little girls instead of babies, and eventually the most beautiful women instead of girls. Sometimes I wish I could make time stand still.
Happy Birthday Sweet Girls.
Do you think you could make this next year go by a bit slower?
We love you so incredibly much.
