Now if that doesn't put a big 'ole smile on your face,..I don't know what will! :)
I know the 4th was a few weeks ago, but I couldn't not blog about it. The 4th of July is possibly one of my top favorite holidays. Family, food, water, fireworks, cute outfits to put the kids in,...it's just a dang fun holiday not to mention the significance of celebrating our freedom. This year's 4th probably tops all of the memories of 4ths in the past......
We had a lot of family in town which made the 4th extra fun! (MawMaw, Bapa, Kirt, Dana, Kara, Elle, Mike, Kristi, John, Tyler, NeeNee, Pops, Nana, & TeeTee!) Aunt Kristi helped apply "4th of July" Tatoos in all sorts of places! ;) The kiddos (and adults) played in the water most of the day!Our water day wouldn't be complete without a white trash, homemade tarp "slip and slide". The big boys learned the hard way that dish soap + water + slip and slide = OUCH!Then we had a traditional 4th of July BBQ and made delicious homemade icecream! But the HIGHLIGHT of the day was the 4th of July PARADE!Yes the Parade! :) Dianne (Brad's mom) bought all sorts of decorations for the kids to decorate their bikes and scooters for the family parade. I am not sure who had more fun designing, the kids or the parents! In my humble opinion Noah's totally kicked booty! They then proceeded to line up on the sidelwalk. BRAD was the "drum major" parade leader (geek looked way too comfortable). Uncle Mike hopped in the car, opened the doors, and drove slowly by the kids BLARRING patriotic music. It didn't take long until our neighbors started opening their doors, other kids started following, and people started clapping. Halarious! The kids felt so special and thought it was a SERIOUS PARADE. What a priceless memory! (VIDEO COMING...PROMISE DIANNE).
Everything looks perfectly wonderful in the firework pictures above, right?!! Oh boy...
*WARNING* Sparklers can be dangerous....see next post (to come)! ;)
