WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE THAT BABY?!

...This is the most common question I get in public these days. I used to love to explain that I am having twins,..hence the larger belly. Now I am to the point when people gasp and ask when I am going to have my baby, I just smile and say "soon". Then I usually mumble to myself and waddle away.

My Dr measured me at 28 weeks as if I were carrying a singleton and I was considered "full term". Now I am 32 weeks. So basically, I look like a whale. I have always loved being pregnant and felt as though every second was a blessing. Hum...I need to keep reminding myself of that. 4 elbows and 4 knees constantly moving,...I am a bit uncomfortable (to say the least). I feel so incredibly unattractive, I have a bladder the size of a grape, and sleeping is near impossible. I feel like my body is merely a host and two babies are taking it over and changing it in every way possible. Okay,...I needed that vent. I feel so much better! :) I know how incredibly blessed I am and I know my sweet girls need to keep cooking! :) The GOAL is to make it to 36 weeks, so 4 more weeks to go! On the bright side each of my baby girls are over 3.5 lbs! This is sweet music to my ears! My biggest fear was having 1 lb, or even 2 lb babies. I know they still have a long way to go (CHUNK UP BABY GIRLS), but every day that passes brings me a little more peace.

Then I start to think, what the heck am I going to do with two babies when they are out of me?!! AHH! Now that is what I really should be worrying about. Maybe I should be begging for them to stay in! ;) It is just all so foreign to me,...the unknown makes me a bit nervous. Will I REALLY be a good mom to 2 babies (scratch that,... 3 babies)? Will Noah get the love and attention he needs? Will my husband? Will I? -I do know and trust that everything will work out,...just keep praying for our crazy family! ;)

Whew...I needed to get those thoughts and emotions out...Thanks! ;)

  5. Oh, Shell, I know it's hard. You can do it if you just take it one day at a time. Besides - I know you better than anyone. And I know that if anyone can handle twins that you can! Hang in there, you are in the home stretch!

  6. It is a funny balance. Once you are pregnant you can't wait to start showing and stop looking chubby (I'm in that phase). Yet at the end you feel like you've been huge forever and just want your body back. I can't imagine that times two!

You are one of the most upbeat and positive people I know. You can do it! Also, have you thought of names?

You're gonna be a great mom to twins to, just like you are w/ Noah!! And that's great that they are 3.5 lbs so far, so see it's gonna be just fine! Mia and Luke were born at 36 weeks and they weighed 4.2 and 4.5, and they were fine! So keep me posted! :) I'm excited for you guys! :)

  10. I don't know why total strangers feel the need to assert their comments on pregnant women, I mean we never go around saying, "Wow, when is that zit on your face going away?" Common courtesy people! Love you Shell, and you are going to do fabulously; if anyone can, it's you!

  14. I can't imagine having two babies to cook up. But im sure you are doing great and look great. And to your questions at the bottom you will do great and it will all come naturally. I was way worried about just having two and if maddux was going to get the attention he needs but it all seemed to work out. Stay strong. You are in our prayers!!! You are a great momma!!!

Shell, ignore the remarks...enjoy the moment...before you know it, it will be over...and you'll wish you could just recapture a day of all these wonderful times! We love you all and can't wait to see our new little girls...and you...and the boys! Tell my son that he better be taking good care of you--oh, wait--you're taking care of him, right? How IS he doing with that knee? I so wish I were there! We love you! Tell Noah I'll e-mail him soon--and I added more to my blog - more pics, too!
