Beach Bums!

Beach Bums WE ARE!
{MEGA CATCH UP BLOG..WARNING...LONG!}
I need a vacation from my vacation! Whew! As many of you know we have been in Florida the past 2 weeks,....followed by a trip to SE Idaho to say bye to Kara! :( There was alot of playing on the beach, eating, napping, eating, firework watching, oh,...did I mention EATING?!! ;) In all seriousness, I think I ate my weight in sugar while I was there. So much for looking FABULOUS in my swimming suit! -It wouldn't be a "Coates Family Vacation" without ridiculous amounts of food!

A random explanation of the vacation.....

Zac (my bro) and Nicolette came over to Amelia Island and stayed with us (Brad's family) in the beach house for the fourth. It was so fun to have some of my family "represent". We ALL went to the pier on the 4th of July to watch the fireworks! Nice picture taking skills Zac! Noah was spoiled rotten by his NeeNee and Pops! :) NeeNee made sure Noah had whatever food he desired and of course she had the boys in matching outfits almost every day.

Noah offically turned ONE while we gone! So BIG! We had a special "beach bash" birthday party for him! Thanks for going all out Dianne! :) (No Noah,...we can't go to the beach EVERY year for your birthday!) It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!
Noah had the best time playing with his cousins John and Tyler. I think he learned a few good things and a few BAD things from them! :) Either way,..I think he grew up a lot being around them. I wish they lived closer so they could play more!
See what I mean,...TROUBLE! ;) We rented cruise bikes and biked through the marsh land and saw turtles, crabs, and alligator TRAILS! Scariness! -We walked and biked on the beach one night too.Noah was the cutest little boy whenever he saw the ocean! He would start squealing and would run down to it. We would have to chase him so he wouldn't get swept away by the waves. He spent some QUALITY time at the beach. NeeNee and Pops took him there EVERY day (sometimes while we slept in :)). He may have swallowed a cup or two of sand,...but hey,...boys will be boys.
Noah also discovered he loved Watermelon,...silly boy!
Brad and I tried to sneak away once or twice for some alone time (because we had a babysitter). Downtown Fernandina Beach is my favorite! We went to some amazing restaurants and looked at all the OLD Bed and Breakfasts. Someday we will go back and stay in one,...RIGHT HONEY?!I have officially decided that there is NO purpose to get ready in the middle of the summer in the south. It is way to hot and humid! I think I attempted to get ready twice while we were there. 10 min later my hair was pulled up in a pony and all makeup had melted off! Makes me appreciate DRY heat. Anyways, the few times I did make the attempt, we managed to get off of our lazy beach bums and go golfing, play tennis, to the playground, and to the community pool. Climbing Up.... Sliding Down...
And after all of that play (whew) there was a lot of sleeping too!
I love this picture of all 3 boys catching up on some Z's with NeeNee! After a week at the beach house, we went to St. Augustine Beach to visit Zac and Nicolette for a day. We went put putting,...and somehow I managed to get dead last. As ALWAYS!
And as if I don't have ENOUGH pictures on this post,...here are a few more random ones.
Um....don't ask.....
Thanks {NeeNee} and {Pops} for such and awesome vacation!By the time we arrived at the airport we were PAST ready to go home, so OF COURSE we found out our flight was delayed and were stuck in the Atlanta airport. We finally made it to SLC, Utah (NOT our destination of Boise) at 2:30 in the morning, had to pay for a hotel room for 4 hours, and hopped back on a plan first thing Monday morning to arrive home in Boise. I had HAD it! I think I almost lost it about a dozen times during our travels home. Noah had HAD it even more! Poor little guy...he was a trooper though.
This past week I was in SE Idaho spending time with my sister Kara before she left for Tennessee! :( Gonna miss you KJO! :( It was good quality time with my family but I have never said the words and meant them more,.....

TheRe iS nO pLaCe LiKe HoMe!
My home, my bed, Noah's crib, (etc.) have NEVER looked so good.
