For most of you who read my blog, you know ALL about Wendy Bunker (Cooper)! But for those of you who don't, she was my BFF in 7th-8th grade. We were two peas in a pod. Wendy was the funniest, most ridiculous, flirtatious, out of control, crazy, beautiful person I have ever met. Well,..she is EXACTLY the same! :) Wendy moved away and we went our seperate ways
(wild child...cough cough ;) ) but always kept in touch. She always seemed to appear at the most important events in my life (graduation, weddings, Jr. Miss, etc.) even though she lived in a different state. We really hadn't spent "quality time" together though since,..well,...the 8th grade. Wendy decided to fly in to Boise to catch up on all the "quality time" moments we've missed over the years. I have to admit, I was slightly nervous that our "connection" wouldn't be the same. HA! The second I saw her it was like we never skipped a beat. Ohhhh it made me realize how much I miss my Wendy Bunker!
There were tons of memories made the past few days, but I thought I'd share a few of my fav's.
*To break the Ice Wendy decided to call my husand Donald *yes Brad's real name is Donald* and Brad wasn't paying attention. Needless to say, it didn't have the effect Wend was hoping for. But within 2 hours Wendy and Brad were BFF. They were laughing and teasing. They still didn't know eachother very well though and we were all standing in the kitchen. Wendy all of a sudden said, "Brad, can I feel your peck". (no joke). I knew Wendy was serious and Brad thought she was teasing. Brad kept saying, "You are joking right?" and I was almost peeing my pants laughing. Wendy kept saying, "WHAT!? I ASKED, I wasn't being rude,...I ASKED! It looks nice and I want to see if it is hard, or if it is a man boob." Oh boy. Finally Brad looks to me for approval and I consented (ONLY FOR WENDY). She poked it once or twice and decided it wasn't a man boob and that it was nice. ---Oh Boy. Wendy Wendy Wendy. Needless to say, Brad was tremendously flattered and now reminds me regularly that he has nice pecks.
*We also had some good times watching "The Office" together. Every night we watched episode after episode of the office. Brad REALLY wanted to hang out with the two of us as much as possible. Wendy kept trying to say she was "the 3rd wheel" but she always managed to confuse that with "threesome".
Oh boy. Wendy Wendy Wendy. I have been SO sick of my hair but haven't been willing to chop it off short, so I've just kept it the same,...FOREVER. The second Wendy got here I decided I loved her "do" and wanted to copy it. So mid week of our visit,...I brought Wendy to the salon and had them copy her hair by cutting layers and bangs. By the end of the week, our hair looked exactly the same (just like when we were 13). For this reason, I am glad Wend lives in Utah. ;)
We also went to the pool, ate (A LOT), and played with Noah.
Thanks for coming Wend! I love you to peices. It was just like back when (except without the extreme flirting we used to do,...oh wait,...you still did a little of that with my husband! ;)) Come back soon!
I love you so much Shell! It was such a fun week! Thank you again for everything! PS my post will still be cuter ;) See you in August!!!!
ReplyDeletePPS Did you have to tell the "Peck" story??!! Bwahahahahaaaa
ReplyDeleteOh, how fun! I'm so glad that Wendy came to see you! I will never forget the two of you way back when. Wendy was like a daughter to me then. Heck, the two of you were joined at the hip! For those of you who didn't know "ShelleyWendy" back then - they would talk sooo fast to each other that no one could understand them but themselves. Also, Wendy is the reason that Shelley knows sign language. Wendy's adorable sister, Melinda, is deaf. Because Wendy grew up knowing how to sign, she taught Shelley how -so that they could "talk" in school without their teachers catching them:) Because of that, Shelley has had wonderful relationships with hearing challenged people.
ReplyDeleteI miss you too Wendy, come and see me!

ReplyDeleteHey Shelley! Yeah, I want to see the pics! That's a good idea about getting professional ones taken. You think I look like C.H.? I don't really see it but I guess I'll take that as a compliment cause I think she's cute. :) P.S. Why haven't you added me as a friend on Facebook yet?
