Daddy's Little Boy!

My sweet BOY (yes BOY not baby) is a daddy's boy through and through. This happened all of a sudden, and I have officially been pushed to the back burner. :(

This all started a few nights ago when Noah woke up and I brought him into bed with us. I fed him his usual bottle, which usually puts him right back to sleep. Instead, he popped his head up looking from Brad, crawled over me, and plopped his little body right on Brad's chest. Brad woke up smiling ear to ear. Brad started rubbing his back and he fell asleep right there. I didn't want Brad to lose too much sleep, so I grabbed Noah and cuddled him back up by me. Seconds later, he woke up and crawled over me to nuzzle up to Brad AGAIN! -By this time my dear husband was so smug about it! He could not have cared less that is was 5:00 in the morning. :) Moments like this truly melt my heart.

Since then, Noah is always one step behind Brad. He tries to play the guitar with Brad, do yard work with Brad, and ,of course, play with Brad. OHH,....AND WALK FOR BRAD. Ya,...you read it! Tonight while I was taking a bath, Brad decided to teach our son how to walk!!!!!!!! Seriously! I was relaxing in my bath as Brad said, "Shell, you'd better get out here. I just taught Noah to walk". G-REAT. Isn't that supposed to be a moment together?! Little punk. I flew out of my bath soaking wet and threw on a robe and grabbed the camera. It's official...Noah took like 10 steps tonight (for a bouncy ball). This moment came WAY too fast. I wasn't mentally prepared for this moment. I needed at least another month. SOOOOO bittersweet. I love to see him taking steps, but he is my baby. Slow down little guy! Here is one of the videos!

So basically now when Brad leaves a room, Noah bawls. You would think it would hurt my feelings (okay maybe a tad), but I LOVE watching them LOVE each other so much! There are definitely mommy times, but it is so sweet to watch the daddy times happening too.
I could watch them together all day long! :) Love you both so much.

  1. Ooohhh - that is so sweet! Makes me kind of cry too. They're not babies long enough. You are such a good mommy. I hope you still enjoy the time he will snuggle with you too.

  3. Ahh that is precious, I love how careful and cautious he is. Deakans first steps were more like speed walking and dives at the end. It is so bitter sweet especially since we cant have a play date for 3 more months, by then Noah will be speaking full sentences.

  6. I told you it wouldn't be long before he was off. And that is adorable you got it on camera. There are worse things than having Noah be a daddy's boy. I'm sure that Brad absolutely loves it.

  9. Don't worry Shelley - I'm sure it's just a phase. They always come back to their mammas. Those pictures in the yard remind me so much of a year ago with Dylan. He would have been the same age as Noah and is wearing a white onsie just like him while playing in the yard with dad. I'll have to email them to you, it's kind of funny.

  10. Shelley- this post almost made me cry! Noah is so adorable- and how precious are those first steps?! I totally know the feeling of it being bitter sweet. Ryan taught Maggie how to stand up by herself and I felt the same way. I wouldn't be suprised if he taught her how to take her first steps too...
